A blind man in July 1998 named Robert, I was assigned to work with him in my first week as a Counselor, I presented myself to him and we had a very good conversation, asking me questions about myself. And, after a long silence he stated: Mr. Verna you hide something from us in your answer, I can see faraway than you may think. In your heart I can see you have a lot of kids who are waiting for your help in your country, and you have an organization. Mr. Verna I can see you have a big heart. As a result, a non-verbal client that was there reported the conversation to his mom. His mom become a supporter of my nonprofit organization and one of my co-worker sponsor a child to go to school for 8 years.

MOUN BONDYE : Let's try to understand the meaning of each word:
MOUN: according to the research of one of my coach, Mr. Luis Henrique Marius, who when he took responsibility for training a group of Haitian social minds to become social leaders, said to himself "I have to find out what a Haitian needs to know in the language he speaks." And, in his search, Haitians emphasize the word MOUN "you are a moun, you are not a moun but they all agree that a Haitian is a human being." Mr. Luis Henrique Marius found that this word comes from the Hebrew language which means PERFECTION, meaning when you are a MOUN you are a Haitian who has reached perfection.
BONDYE (GOD): we all know that he is the Lord of the Universe and who creates his children in his image.

Yon avèg nan mwa Jiyè 1998 yo te rele Robert, mwen te deziyen pou travay avè l 'nan premye semèn mwen kòm yon travaye sosyal, mwen te prezante tèt mwen ak li epi nou te gen yon trè bon konvèsasyon, li poze m' kesyon sou tèt mwen. Epi, apre yon long silans li deklare: Mesye Verna ou kache yon bagay pou nou nan repons ou a, mwen ka wè byen lwen ke ou ka panse. Manman li vin yon sipòtè òganizasyon san bi likratif mwen an e youn nan kòlèg travay mwen yo patwone yon timoun pou ale lekòl pou 8 ane.

RESTORERS

Your people shall rebuild the ancient ruins; the foundations from ages past you shall raise up; “Repairer of the breach,” they shall call you, Restorer of ruined dwellings. Isaiah 58:12

I have carried this vocation within me since I was 6 years old when my father and mother were preparing me to serve God as a Priest Bridge builder. In the Catholic world, a Priest Builder is a priest who is engaged in community work, especially in organizing life and helping families; they build churches, schools, homes for people and health centers for the community. This ideal remains in me and channels all the actions I have to do. When I was 17 years old I went to meet my spiritual advisor, Reverend Father Marat. In the revelation of Father Marat, vicar of the Port-au-Prince Cathedral who informed me; According to what he sees, I do not have a mission to become a priest but you have a social mission, he said please return tomorrow afternoon, I will pray the Great Master so that I can give you a good answer. And according to my vision where I heard a voice say: "Who will take up the cause of my children?" When I went back to talk to Father Marat he said the same thing the voice told me and continued to say: “you are Social Thought. I do not know where you can get this training but I know a brother in the choir who can give you guidance.”

All my education and all my actions are aimed at making me a social leader, a shepherd, a repairer / restorer in my community. With the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, I and the board of directors of EFO PA NOU said it was time for actions that can transform people to be taken because this country not only needs to be rebuilt but also re-founded. This led us to meet many people to reveal what God had put in my heart to do for the Haitian people. So, at the end of 2011, after a visit to Haiti, I accompanied a group of foreign builders to a large DBECD company that was looking for a contract to rebuild Haiti where they planned to put a large part of their profits towards the needs of EFO PA NOU for community development. This mission was not completed because we did not like the conditions and the DBECD builders referred me to a group of restoration Christians who are preparing themselves based on the biblical passage Isaiah 58:12 to go all over the world to restore lives. And there, I met my partner organization led by Bishop Dr. Sydney Reid, president of the Helping Hands WOG ministry, which itself had a mission to restore a city in Haiti. On site, we made a visit to evaluate what this organization does and what EFO PA NOU does, to know what needs to be done to restore life in this country. We meet with all the bodies of cooperation, land negotiations and matters that must be negotiated so that we can make an impact on the lives of all Haitians.

Restorers must put in place a system for family life to thrive, for food to grow from the ground, for people to have a job (they know how to fish) so that they can eat with the sweat of their brow. This book “SOCIAL AND SOLID ECONOMY” describes a system that guarantees knowledge of rights and duties, social justice, rehabilitation and social transformation of a nation. But we need the help of all those who have a good heart for the cause of Haiti.

The book proceeds will fund the EFO PA NOU life project in Haiti.

The book is a WIN WIN! The proceeds will help start our program and fight with poverty in Haiti.

SUMMARY OF THE BOOK
  • Haiti and development goals
  • A humain development project
The situation in Haiti
With the independence, the distribution of goods was poorly done, where we see the mulattoes and some great generals taking all the goods (agricultural lands). What we are doing in the country has no investment capital and the people do not have the resources to allow them to raise their children. This situation has given birth to the society we know today; Haiti is the poorest and most malnourished country in the Hemisphere. This country does not have an investment capital, the lands are confiscated but we have the labor force.

Development needs and challenges in Haiti
This country does not have an investment capital, the lands are confiscated but the people have an unbelievable workforce and they smile to claim “a humanity”. This labor force has no way to facilitate the exchange or sale of goods or to hire labor. If the citizens do not come together, it will be difficult for people to live like people in this country.

Sustainable Development Goals at the U.N.
The United Nations goal of sustainable development put together to end the world's misery is a sine qua non for the rest of the world. The book embraces them as the goal of the system we want to establish in Haiti.

Proposal
  • Let all Haitians buy this book;
  • We will sit down with our partners, landowners, national and local governments to sign our cooperation agreements;
  • We will ask each person to open their own book on page number X to follow with us;
  • Reorganize families
  • Reorganize the community, create cooperatives, agricultural and mutual banks
  • We divide the country into three major intervention regions, we will rise and encourage the creation of community farms to assist all Haitians with a hot dish every day.
  • Assist all Haitians in recognizing their rights and duties, social justice, rehabilitation and social transformation;
 PREFACE

Solidarity Social Economy is a book written by Dr. Verna Brice for all Haitians in Haiti and in the Haitian Diaspora. I could not believe that when the Doctor pointed out the book not only to those who know how to read, but also to those who do not know how to read, and for those who do not know how to read, he will even help them understand the book. It was a way of explaining that the book is a basis, a means for everyone to contribute money to a project of the society of national reconstruction. In fact, he is inviting everyone to help build an economy based on a Social Security system where all children born will already have a fund available to him (a parental contribution of 2,500 Gourdes) that will facilitate his fulfillment of his role in the country. to either as a warrior, or as a craftsman, or as a philosopher. And it describes the needs and roles of every person in society: an artisan-worker; a guardian-soldier-warrior or a leader-chief-shepherd-philosopher.

Anyone who buys this book today will have the opportunity to contribute to the foundation of this solidarity economy not only in Haiti but also in other countries. That would mean the beginning of an economic revolution that favors the weakest ones. It was while editing / correcting the book that I came to understand its importance.
Dr. Brice radiographs the country's problems as he presents his social ladder, and proposes a model of sustainable development as a solution to end poverty; but this model depends on each other: A Social and Solidarity Economy.
He recognizes a street child, even uneducated, is a potential gold mine, to repeat our friend William Lamarre (let his soul rest in peace!)

Dr. Brice's life trajectory shows that it is his destiny to help people, while facilitating the conditions for the person to create his own industry and agriculture. That is, he wants to show people to go fishing instead of giving them a fish!
It does not work individually; it is solidary in creating a partnership to build together a new society. Thus, “EFO PA NOU” wants to create a self-sufficient community where everyone will find school, work, home, food, leisure, etc. In this sense, the Doctor joins us in our project called: "Le PHD" (Le Plan d'Haïti de Demain). Everyone should collaborate in our efforts when we buy the book: Social and Solidarity Economy.

Tercius Belfort, MA, Ed.; Author of multilingual books; Polyglot; Translator / Editor; Social Media Manager and Patriotic Advocate.

FOREWORD

The Social and Solidarity Economy is a book of total capital that allows me to understand the sociological, economic and political realities of Haiti. I guess it's the same effect on all readers. When looking at the outline of the book with 3 main lines:
  • Let's see together
  • How to understand the reality “Process”
  • What are we doing?
1st observation. We could say that it is a document on research in Sociology that describes the socio-economic reality of the Haitian people that will make us give birth to another system. It traces the way people live in rural and poor urban areas. It presents opportunities and degradation of life in these areas. He mainly explained the strategy put in place by the population to avoid starvation and poverty. A population that takes itself in charge besides the State that never remembers if they are there. Aside from all the bad life experiences Dr. Verna Brice has had among her family, we still on serve a Christian role model for anyone who wants to help. Despite poverty, he did not stop helping others. It is clear that the more he helps others out of trouble and difficulty, the more blessings God will receive and the Holy Spirit will open the door for him to continue to help. God’s blessings are so great, many of His children are helping to become today great citizens who help society at the highest level. Thus, saving those younger ones is one of the greatest vocations a Christian can practice in his life.

2nd observation. According to the structure of the book, a method is explained:
  • How a person can help society organize itself to change the living conditions, family life and life of everyone in the community in which he or she lives;
  • It provides techniques on how people can come together, their money, their knowledge, their time to create productive enterprises, trade, service providers such as schools and universities, hospitals, internet, telephone, television, radio, transportation, etc .;
  • It offers many opportunities for the diaspora to organize and invest in the country of Haiti and enjoy their retirement in the country.
"A social step plus our willingness to end poverty can make a big difference in changing people's living conditions."
I wish success to all who use this book.

Dr St Louis Christophe Jumelle, THOMAS, D.H.L.

The book proceeds will fund life projects of EFO PA NOU in Haiti
